George Gerdes,Owner

Born on Paris Island and raised in Bogota, New Jersey, George Gerdes relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina at age 15, where he graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1983. In 1985, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, proudly serving until 1989.

His dedication to service continued when he joined the Marine Corps League in 2014, taking on the role of Toys for Tots Coordinator from 2015 to 2019, bringing joy to children in need.

In 2019, George founded Pulse Vodka, inspired by the resilience of the community in the aftermath of the Pulse Night Club tragedy in Florida. Pulse Vodka became a symbol of unity and hope, aligning with George’s commitment to giving back.

Alongside his entrepreneurial pursuits, he owns an AvisBudget Car Rental Franchise, a venture he’s managed since 2014.

George is a devoted family man, with a son, Shane, three grandchildren, a daughter, Brianna, and no grandchildren yet from her.

In 2022, he remarried Candie, and together they enjoy a blended family that includes stepdaughter Norma (NN) and stepson Karac.

Known for his generosity and community spirit, George aspires to be recognized as a Philanthropist of the Year, driven by his love for helping others and making a difference.
